Road, metro or bus in Bengaluru
Is the metro, the bus or driving better in Bengaluru?
It depends on your trip and the hour. Trafixcast adds up door-to-door time (including the way to and from the station or bus stop), the cost, and how crowded the train or bus is likely to be, then says which one comes out ahead and why.
Do I need to start on this tab?
No. Plan a trip in Bengaluru on the Road or Metro tab and tap Compare under your result to get the same comparison, using the places and times you already entered. Trafi adds it to its answers as well.
What does the cost include?
For the metro, the ticket price plus the estimated auto or bike taxi to and from the station when you are not walking. For the bus, the bus fare plus the same kind of estimated ride to the first stop and from the last. For a vehicle, fuel or charging only. Parking and tolls are not included.
How is the better pick decided?
Time, money and a seat all count. Each result says how time is valued and how much a crowded train counts against the metro. When the two are close it says so, because it then depends on what matters to you.
Is the bus included?
Yes, in Bengaluru. The quickest BMTC bus (ordinary or AC) is compared with the metro and your vehicle on door-to-door time, total cost and crowding. Bus times are scheduled, not live, and the bus crowd level is a guess because BMTC publishes no occupancy. Open the Bus tab for every option, where to change and Shakti fares.
Is this live?
No. It uses predicted traffic, past ridership and typical train frequency, so treat the numbers as estimates.
