What is the best time to leave in Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Delhi NCR, Mumbai and Pune?
It depends on your route, the day and the weather. Weekday mornings (roughly 8 to 10:30 AM) and evenings (roughly 5 to 8 PM) are commonly the slowest, but the gap between two nearby times can be large. Trafixcast shows the predicted travel time for every 30 minutes over the next 7 days, so you can see the quickest slot for your own trip.
How does Trafixcast work?
You enter a start, an end and the hours you can leave. Trafixcast asks TomTom for the predicted travel time for each 30-minute slot, then adjusts it for rain, public holidays and your vehicle. It shows a typical time and a likely worst case for each slot.
Does Trafixcast tell me if it will rain on my commute?
Yes. If rain is forecast for any time slot shown, Trafixcast says so first, and the slot is marked with a rain icon. You can also ask Trafi, the chat assistant, whether it will rain in your city or at a place.
Does Trafixcast cover the metro?
Yes, for Namma Metro in Bengaluru. It shows the route, the direction to board, how full the train is usually at that hour (from past ridership, not live), an estimated fare and last-mile cost, and a link to book on Namma Metro's WhatsApp. In Bengaluru, a Compare button under every trip you plan gives a road, metro and bus comparison, with no need to enter it again.
Does Trafixcast cover BMTC buses?
Yes, in Bengaluru. Enter two places and it shows which BMTC bus to take, the next scheduled departures, where to change, the fare, the cost of getting to the stop and from the drop stop (walk, bike taxi or auto), ordinary against AC buses side by side, Shakti fares for women, and a guessed crowd level that also reflects holidays and weekends. Times are scheduled, not live.
Is Trafixcast free?
Yes. There is no sign-up and nothing to pay. Estimates are ranges, not promises, so use them to compare times.
